Nursing service is a vital part of medical care. Treatment plan of physicians and surgeons are much dependent and at times complementary to professional competence of the nurses. Therefore, adequately trained nurses and proper motivation ensure services to suffering patient..

Jahurul Islam Nursing Training Institute was thus setup on August 29, 1989, first of all to train Aid Nurses with a batch of 50 students. Later on, the Diploma Nursing Course was started on December 1991 with a role of 30 students. Most of the students are drawn locally.

The Institute has also made arrangements under which distinguished foreign experts are imparting training to local nurses from time to time in order to enhance their overall professional skill.

The Institute has its independent setup with teachers� and students� accommodation, own library and other facilities.

Every year approximately twenty students are admitted on merit basis in this institute and since its inception one hundred and forty one students have passed out successfully. Of these, thirty six students have passed Bangladesh Nursing Councils� Examination with distinction, thirteen of them securing the first position in order of merit in different sessions and four of them were awarded Gold Medals.
